Acacia leprosa 'Scarlet Blaze' (Cinnamon Wattle)

Acacia leprosa 'Scarlet Blaze' (Cinnamon Wattle) is a stunning Australian native shrub that puts on a spectacular show of deep crimson-red flowers — a rare and striking colour in the wattle world. Unlike the typical yellow of most acacias, 'Scarlet Blaze' produces masses of vivid red blooms in late winter to spring, making it a real standout in the garden.

This compact, arching shrub grows to approximately 2–3m high x 2–3m wide, making it ideal for hedging, screening, or as a feature plant. It thrives in full sun to part shade and is well suited to cold climates, tolerating frost once established. Perfectly adapted to Ballarat conditions.

The flowers are highly attractive to nectar-feeding birds including honeyeaters, making this an excellent choice for wildlife-friendly gardens. It also supports beneficial insects and pollinators.
