Acer palmatum 'Crimson Treasure' PBR – Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum 'Crimson Treasure' PBR (Japanese Maple) is a striking deciduous feature tree with finely divided, garnet-red foliage that develops brilliant orange-red tones in autumn. Upright when young, it gradually forms a broader, spreading canopy with gently arching branches.

Growing approximately 3m high and 2m wide, it makes an attractive focal point for smaller gardens and courtyards. Position it where the delicate foliage and changing autumn colours can be enjoyed from a window or beside a garden seat.

Position: A sheltered spot with morning sun or light shade. Protect from hot afternoon sun and drying winds, which can scorch the fine leaves.

Soil and care: Plant in moist, well-drained soil enriched with organic matter. Water regularly while establishing and during dry weather. Mulch to keep roots cool and retain moisture, keeping mulch clear of the trunk. Avoid waterlogged soil.

Mature size: approximately 3m tall × 2m wide, depending on conditions.

Well suited to Ballarat's cold climate in a protected garden position. Although winter hardy, tender new spring growth may need protection from late frosts.
