Acer palmatum ‘Seiryu’ - Seiryu Japanese Maple

Acer palmatum ‘Seiryu’, commonly known as Seiryu Japanese Maple, is a beautiful deciduous tree with an elegant, upright form and finely divided green foliage. In autumn, the foliage transforms into a spectacular display of golden yellow, orange and red, bringing wonderful seasonal colour to the garden.

Growing to around 5 metres tall and 3 metres wide, ‘Seiryu’ forms a graceful, upright tree with a slightly spreading crown as it matures. Its fine foliage and attractive branching make it an excellent feature tree for garden beds, courtyards or as a specimen where its changing colours can be appreciated throughout the seasons.

It prefers well-drained, fertile soil with consistent moisture and a sheltered position. Morning sun or filtered light is ideal, particularly in warmer conditions, while protection from hot afternoon sun and drying winds helps maintain healthy foliage. ‘Seiryu’ is frost hardy and well suited to the cold conditions experienced around Ballarat.

At Navigators Nursery near Ballarat, Seiryu Japanese Maple is a beautiful choice for adding elegant form and exceptional seasonal colour to a Ballarat garden.
