Banksia spinulosa 'Honey Pots'
Banksia spinulosa 'Honey Pots'
Banksia spinulosa 'Honey Pots' is a compact Australian native shrub prized for its abundant golden-orange flower spikes and dense, fine-textured foliage. This cultivar produces stunning cylindrical flower spikes throughout autumn and winter, providing vibrant colour when many other plants are dormant.
Well-suited to Ballarat's climate, this hardy banksia tolerates light frosts once established and thrives in full sun with excellent drainage. The narrow, serrated leaves create an attractive evergreen backdrop year-round, while the nectar-rich flowers attract honeyeaters and other native birds to the garden.
Perfect for native gardens, rockeries, or as a feature shrub in well-drained borders. Requires minimal water once established and benefits from occasional light pruning after flowering. Avoid phosphorus-rich fertilizers. Height approximately 1-1.5m, width 1-1.5m.
