Callistemon viminalis ‘Pink Champagne’ - Pink Champagne Bottlebrush

Callistemon viminalis ‘Pink Champagne’, commonly known as Pink Champagne Bottlebrush, is an attractive Australian native shrub with beautiful soft pink bottlebrush flowers. The flowers begin in a warm pink shade before gradually fading to a softer blush, creating a lovely long-lasting display against the green foliage. The flowers are also highly attractive to nectar-feeding birds.

Growing to around 3 metres tall and 1.5–2 metres wide, ‘Pink Champagne’ forms an upright, bushy shrub that works beautifully as a feature plant, informal screen or hedge. It can also be pruned after flowering to maintain a more compact shape and encourage dense new growth.

It prefers a sunny to partly shaded position and is adaptable to a range of well-drained soils. Once established it is drought tolerant and requires relatively little maintenance. It tolerates light frost and is suitable for cool temperate gardens, although young plants may benefit from protection during particularly heavy frosts. In Ballarat’s cold climate, choose a sheltered position where heavy frost is a concern.

At Navigators Nursery near Ballarat, ‘Pink Champagne’ is a lovely Australian native choice for adding soft pink colour, evergreen structure and bird-attracting flowers to the garden.
