Ceanothus ‘Blue Pacific’ - California Lilac

Ceanothus ‘Blue Pacific’, commonly known as California Lilac, is a beautiful evergreen shrub that produces masses of vivid blue flowers in spring and early summer. Large flower clusters stand out against deep-green foliage, creating a spectacular display when the plant is in full bloom.

Growing to approximately 3 metres tall and 2–3 metres wide, ‘Blue Pacific’ forms a dense, rounded shrub suited to feature planting, informal screening or planting in groups for an impressive display of blue.

Plant in a sunny position with well-drained soil, avoiding waterlogged ground and prolonged wet conditions. Once established, it is reasonably drought tolerant. It tolerates moderate frost, but protection from heavy frost is recommended, particularly while young. In Ballarat’s cold climate, choose a sheltered, sunny position with excellent drainage.
