Citrus × junos – Dwarf Yuzu citrus tree

Enjoy the unmistakable fragrance of yuzu in a more compact citrus tree. Dwarf yuzu produces aromatic fruit prized for its tart juice and intensely fragrant rind, ideal for dressings, baking, preserves and drinks. Glossy evergreen foliage and scented white spring flowers make it an appealing container plant, too.

• Position in full sun in free-draining soil or a generous pot.
• Water regularly while establishing and feed with a citrus fertiliser during active growth.
• A dwarf tree may reach approximately 1.5–2 m high and 1–1.5 m wide, depending on rootstock, growing conditions and pruning.
• Yuzu is more cold-tolerant than many citrus, but young trees and potted plants need protection from hard frost in our Ballarat cold climate.

At Navigators Nursery, we love finding citrus suited to cold-climate gardeners. Give this one a sheltered, sunny spot and enjoy its distinctive harvest.
