Citrus × tangelo 'Minneola' – Minneola Tangelo

Sweet, tangy citrus with a distinctive little neck. Minneola tangelo is a mandarin–grapefruit hybrid prized for its juicy, richly flavoured orange fruit. Easy to peel and delightful to eat fresh, it also makes a vibrant juice. Fragrant white blossom and glossy evergreen foliage add charm to a sunny garden.

• Plant in full sun in well-drained soil, ideally in a warm, sheltered position.
• Allow approximately 3–4 m in height and 2–3 m in width at maturity, depending on rootstock, conditions and pruning.
• Water regularly while establishing and feed with citrus fertiliser during active growth.
• Cross-pollination with another compatible citrus can improve fruit set; yields may vary.
• In our Ballarat cold climate, protect young plants from hard frost and choose a sheltered spot to help fruit ripen.
