Hydrangea ‘Pink Magical Revolution’ – Compact Colour-Changing Hydrangea

Hydrangea ‘Pink Magical Revolution’ is a beautiful compact hydrangea with large, rounded flower heads that begin in soft pink before gradually changing through deeper pink and red tones, eventually developing attractive green and burgundy shades as they mature. The long-lasting flowers can provide colour for many months, making this a particularly rewarding hydrangea for the garden.

Growing to around 70cm tall and 70cm wide, ‘Pink Magical Revolution’ forms a neat, compact shrub that is ideal for garden beds, borders, pots and containers. Its sturdy stems hold the flower heads well, while the lush green foliage provides an attractive backdrop throughout the growing season.

It prefers a partly shaded position with moist, well-drained soil and protection from hot afternoon sun and drying winds. Keep the soil consistently moist, particularly through summer, and mulch well to help keep the roots cool, keeping mulch clear of the stems. It has good frost tolerance and is well suited to our Ballarat cold climate, though tender new growth benefits from protection against late frosts.
