Juniperus communis 'Compressa'
Juniperus communis 'Compressa'
Juniperus communis 'Compressa' (Dwarf Common Juniper) is a miniature evergreen conifer perfect for small gardens, rockeries, and container planting. This slow-growing cultivar forms a tight, narrow columnar shape with dense blue-green foliage that creates a striking vertical accent in the landscape.
Exceptionally hardy for Ballarat's cold climate, this juniper tolerates severe frosts, wind exposure, and poor soils with ease. The compact growth habit makes it ideal for small spaces, while the aromatic foliage adds year-round texture and colour. Requires minimal maintenance once established and develops excellent form without pruning.
Perfect for rockeries, alpine gardens, containers, or as a miniature specimen in borders. Thrives in full sun with well-drained soil and excellent drought tolerance once established. Height approximately 60-80cm over many years, width 15-20cm.
