Leucospermum cordifolium - Pincushion Protea

Leucospermum cordifolium, commonly known as Pincushion, is one of the most spectacular South African proteaceae shrubs available. Its extraordinary globe-shaped flowerheads in shades of orange, yellow, and red are a showstopper in the garden and make outstanding long-lasting cut flowers for floral arrangements.

Approximate size at maturity: 1.5–2m height × 1.5–2m width.

Plant in full sun in well-drained, low-phosphorus soil. Moderately drought tolerant once established. Avoid overwatering and heavy clay soils. Performs well in cool climates including the Ballarat region.
