Miscanthus 'Kleine Fontaine'

Miscanthus sinensis 'Kleine Fontaine' (Little Fountain Maiden Grass) is a compact, clump-forming ornamental grass admired for its narrow, silvery-green foliage with a distinctive white midrib. Known as 'Little Fountain' due to its elegant, fountain-like growth habit, it reaches a manageable height of approximately 1.05 to 1.45 meters (3.5 to 4.5 feet) with a spread of 0.6 to 0.9 meters (2 to 3 feet), making it an excellent choice for smaller gardens and borders.

Flowering profusely from mid-summer to autumn, it produces showy, reddish-brown tassel-like plumes that gradually mature to a silvery-pink hue, adding lovely seasonal interest. The foliage turns attractive straw-yellow in autumn and remains decorative through winter, providing year-round appeal. 'Kleine Fontaine' prefers full sun to partial shade and almost any well-drained soil, demonstrating drought tolerance once established.
