Myoporum parvifolium ‘Broad Leaf’ | White-flowering Creeping Boobialla
Myoporum parvifolium ‘Broad Leaf’, commonly known as Broad Leaf Creeping Boobialla, is a hardy Australian native groundcover with attractive, broader green foliage and small star-shaped flowers appearing through the warmer months. Its dense, spreading habit makes it particularly useful for covering bare ground, suppressing weeds and softening the edges of garden beds.
Growing to around 20 cm tall and spreading to approximately 2 metres wide, ‘Broad Leaf’ forms a low, dense carpet that works beautifully on banks, slopes, rockeries, along garden edges or as a living mulch beneath larger plants. Its evergreen foliage provides good year-round coverage once established.
It prefers a sunny to partly shaded position with well-drained soil and is tolerant of drought and a range of soil conditions once established. Frost hardy and well suited to cool temperate conditions, it is a particularly useful groundcover for gardens around Ballarat.
At Navigators Nursery, we carefully select plants with our local conditions in mind, and ‘Broad Leaf’ is a tough, versatile Australian native for creating a low-maintenance carpet of greenery while helping to keep weeds under control.
