Prostanthera rotundifolia - Round Leaf Mint Bush

Prostanthera rotundifolia, commonly known as Round Leaf Mint Bush, is an attractive evergreen Australian native shrub with small, rounded aromatic leaves and masses of purple to mauve flowers in spring. Its foliage releases a fresh minty fragrance when brushed or crushed, making it a lovely choice beside paths and seating areas.

Growing to approximately 2 metres tall and 1.5 metres wide, it forms a rounded, bushy shrub suited to garden beds, informal hedging, screening and mixed native plantings. A light prune after flowering helps maintain a compact shape and encourages bushy growth.

Plant in full sun to part shade in well-drained soil, and provide moisture during dry periods. Frost tolerant and suited to cool-climate gardens, Round Leaf Mint Bush is a good option for Ballarat gardens. Protect young plants from severe frost while they establish.

At Navigators Nursery near Ballarat, Round Leaf Mint Bush offers a beautiful combination of spring colour, evergreen foliage and refreshing fragrance for cool-climate gardens.
