Rhododendron ‘Mount Everest’ – White Flowering Evergreen Shrub

Rhododendron ‘Mount Everest’ is a magnificent evergreen rhododendron that produces large, rounded trusses of pure white flowers in spring. The flowers open from soft pink buds, creating a beautiful contrast before developing into a brilliant white display against the dark green foliage.

Growing to around 2.5–3 metres tall and approximately 2 metres wide, ‘Mount Everest’ forms a substantial, upright shrub that makes an impressive feature plant or screen in larger garden beds. Its glossy evergreen foliage provides year-round structure and interest.

It prefers a cool, sheltered position with morning sun, filtered light or part shade and well-drained, acidic soil rich in organic matter. Keep the soil consistently moist, particularly during dry periods, and mulch to protect the shallow roots, keeping mulch clear of the trunk. Frost hardy and well suited to cool-climate gardens, ‘Mount Everest’ is a lovely choice for our Ballarat cold climate.
