Sequoia sempervirens - Coast Redwood

Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) is a fast-growing evergreen conifer prized for its soft, feathery foliage and handsome red-brown fibrous bark. One of the world's most majestic trees, it makes a superb specimen for larger gardens and cool, moist sites.

In cultivation it can eventually reach 18–36 m tall and 8–11 m wide, making it a bold long-term investment for the landscape.

Growing Conditions

• Position: Full sun to part shade
• Soil: Deep, moist, well-drained, slightly acidic
• Water: Regular watering; tolerates periods of moisture
• Frost tolerance: Hardy to cold climates including Ballarat conditions
