Triglochin procerum, commonly known as Water Ribbon, is a hardy Australian native aquatic plant with attractive ribbon-like green leaves. Some float gracefully across the water's surface while others grow upright, bringing movement and texture to ponds and water features. In spring and summer, distinctive spikes of small greenish flowers add further interest.

Growing to approximately 30–60 cm tall and wide, Water Ribbon forms a neat, spreading clump, although its long ribbon-like leaves can extend considerably further when growing in water. It is a versatile choice for ponds, dams and waterways and can help provide habitat and shelter for frogs, insects and water birds.

Plant in a sunny to partly shaded position in consistently wet conditions, including shallow to deeper water. Water Ribbon tolerates frost, inundation and short dry periods, making it well suited to Ballarat's cold climate.

At Navigators Nursery near Ballarat, Water Ribbon is a lovely Australian native for adding movement, texture and natural character to ponds and water gardens.
